Kyoto iUP, Kyoto University - JUGAS Supplementary Scholarship

Outline

Kyoto iUP, Kyoto University - JUGAS Supplementary Scholarship was established with the gifts from the Japanese University Graduates Association of Singapore (JUGAS) to motivate highly talented Singaporean students to study at Kyoto iUP, and to encourage Singaporean graduates of Kyoto University to play active and important roles both in Singapore and Japan to enhance the relationship between the two countries.

This scholarship sponsors a one-way economy class airline ticket from Singapore to an International Airport in Japan nearest to Kyoto University, and a return economy class ticket from Japan to Singapore upon completion of bachelor's degree, for deserving Singaporean students who are accepted into Kyoto iUP.

About JUGAS

JUGAS is an Alumni of non-Japanese citizens residing in the Republic of Singapore who have completed their tertiary education in Japan. Since its foundation in 1970, it has been a uniting force among fellow graduates from Japanese universities. Currently, it has 460 members who graduated from universities from all parts of Japan, and associate members who have completed non-degree courses, or are students studying for degree courses in Japanese universities. In September 2005, JUGAS was awarded Japanese Foreign Minister's Commendations (日本国外務大臣表彰) for its effort in supporting students to study in Japan, and networking of returned graduates leading to enhancement of mutual understanding between Japan and Singapore.
