Specialized Curriculum for Undergraduates

Q9-1. I understand that students attend classes in Japanese during the third and fourth year. Are the classes specially customized for Kyoto iUP, or are they the same classes as offered to Japanese undergraduate students?

They are the same classes as Japanese undergraduate students attend.

Q9-2. Is the same Japanese language proficiency required by all faculties? Could you provide Japanese language classes according to the required level of each faculty?
A

The level of proficiency required varies depending on the faculty. In general, social sciences and humanities require substantially higher proficiency in Japanese for the graduation than the natural sciences. Kyoto iUP provides students with appropriate Japanese classes depending on the level of each student and the level required by each faculty.

Q9-3. Are there any English-taught classes offered within the specialized curricula of the faculties?
A

A small number of specialized curricula classes are provided in English by several faculties, but most of the specialized curricula classes in each faculty are taught in Japanese, with the exception of foreign language classes.
