Kyoto University Education Fair 2018 in Taiwan

On October 14, 2018, Kyoto University held "2018京都大學Kyoto iUP國際教育展" (Kyoto University Kyoto iUP Education Fair 2018)at the Taipei Office of Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association. 110 students interested in studying in Japan and their parents participated in the fair.

First the outline of Kyoto iUP (Kyoto University International Undergraduate Program) was explained and then professors from Faculty of Integrated Human Studies, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Engineering, and Faculty of Agriculture made presentations about the overview of four faculties.

After the intermission, two Taiwanese junior associate professors gave short lectures. Dr. Kaichun Chang at the Graduate School of Engineering talked about his research on the vibration-based bridge health monitoring system. Dr. Chin-Cheng Scotty Yang at the Research Institute for Sustainable Humanosphere gave a lecture entitled "Are cockroaches all that bad? Complex relationships between humans and insects". Both lectures stimulated the audience's intellectual curiosity and many students queued to ask questions after their lectures.
At the end of the fair, each faculty set up the individual consultation booth and accepted questions from interested students.
